Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Guwahati by noon and Check-into pre-booked hotel
Rest; Explore Guwahati Market etc.. O/N Guwahati
Day 02: GUWAHATI – SHILLONG (100 KM. / 03 hrs approx)
The Drive – Guwahati to Shillong via Jorabat , Nangpoh and Barapani Lake..
Post breakfast we proceed to Shillong, also called 'Scotland of the East" (100 kms 3 hrs).
8 PM, Smirnoff, McDowell, Royal Stag… Welcome you with a Big Happy Note as you enter Meghalaya from Assam.. “Welcome to tax-free Zone”.. if this does not intoxicate you the beautiful drive will. Guwahati – Shillong road is one of the most beautiful road rides in the country of India. Lined with mountains; lakes and rivers. Stopping at Nangpoh for a quick bite of Momo’s is a recommended idea.
While traveling we see the majestic Umiam Lake a short stop to soak in view of shimmering (Barapani Lake) surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines, Betel nut and the azure blue skies. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel.
Late noon and evening at leisure your can visit the local market or simply curl in with one of your favorite books.

Day 03: SHILLONG - CHERAPUNJEE - SHILLONG
Get up early today to enjoy the mesmerizing mornings of Shillong and after breakfast at 07:30 A.M drive to Cherrapunjee (60 kms 1½hrs), which is the wettest place in the world. It is a pleasant drive to see roaring waterfalls leaping into deep gorges, including the famed Nohsngithiang Falls. The beautiful waterfall-Nohkalikai is at Cherrapunjee. You can also explore some of the caves in and around Cherrapunjee like Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Evening return back to Shillong for Night Stay.
Day 04: SHILLONG - MAWLLYNNONG VILLAGE - SHILLONG
Overnight stay at Mawllynnong Village advised (basic home stay).
After breakfast visit the cleanest village in India. It is situated 90 kms. from Shillong and besides the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. It is along the Indo-Bangladesh border. This cute and colorful little village is known for its cleanliness. Evening we will return back to Shillong. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 05: SHILLONG :
Whole day will be in leisure in Shillong.
Having been a avid traveler and adventurer over the years I always felt that if you travel too far from home one such day is required where one does nothing or simply thinks as per their wish..

Day 06: SHILLONG SIGHT SEEING – GUWAHATI
After breakfast today visit Ward’s Lake where you can enjoy boating, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydri Park. After lunch proceed to Guwahati (100 kms 3 hrs). Arrive and check in at hotel. Evening you may visit 'Kalakshetra', a place where Assamese history and culture is presented through Light and sound show or take an evening cruise on the mighty river Brahmaputra (It optional instant pay basis).Return to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Guwahati.
Day 07: GUWAHATI - DEPARTURE
After breakfast check out from hotel visit famous heritage"Mata Kamakhya" Temple and with everlasting memories transfer to Guwahatiairport/railway station for onward journey.
